Alessandra Branca's Colorful Chair

"The most colorful thing in my home is this 18th-century Louis XVI wing bergère. I love the way the red mohair velvet creates a plush 'pop' in the room. And it adds a warm, luxurious element to an otherwise very 'proper' piece.

Joe Nye's Colorful Den

"I live in Southern California, so I love to use colors that relate to the ocean and our sunny blue skies. I started designing my den with this beautiful Le Manach chintz, Mortefontaine Gris, that you see on the pillows and the armchair in back. Then I added the Prussian blue linen velvet on the sofa.

Todd Merrill's Colorful Sitting Area

"In my living room, I have a 1950s peacock-blue Chinese vase that sits on a silvered lotus table by James Mont. Both are in front of a gilded Viennese chest from about 1915. The mixture of blue, silver, and gold creates a magical, dreamlike feeling, like a Maxfield Parrish painting.

Dan Marty's Orange Dining Room Chairs

"At home, I use my own Laurel dining room chairs, but I covered them in a paprika-colored, vegetable-dyed antique linen. Then I hand-painted all the nailheads turquoise, which complements the red. And I love the red with the mustard lantern."
