Beginning October 28, and lasting for one week, women with blogs
focused on the customer experience (listed below) will post the best
and worst bathroom observations on the Bathroom Blogfest ‘07, from
museums to libraries and retail to restaurants. The Blogfest began last
year as the brainchild of Weaver and Susan Abbott, a business
consultant and consumer researcher in Toronto. “The blogfest began with
nine bloggers last year and this year we have 22, with a truly
international perspective. Bloggers will be posting from London,
Bangalore, Toronto, and the Mississippi Delta. In addition, we have
writers coming from a variety of new perspectives, including design,
marketing, market research, and libraries,” commented Weaver,
consultant and author of Creating Great Visitor Experiences (Left Coast
Press, 2007), a book about how to turn museums into great customer
experiences.
National Kitchen & Bath Month is the time of year when kitchen and
bathroom industry professionals, students, and consumers across the
country promote awareness and excellence in design. “We planned
Bathroom Blogfest ’07 to coincide with the NKBA’s annual October
event,” commented Abbott,“and to remind business that it’s all about
the customer experience.” Abbott added, “We are honored to have NKBA
blogger Ed Pell and Linda Tischler, Senior Writer for Fast Company
magazine joining us, along with 20 other great bloggers from around the
globe.”
Last year’s Blogfest featured posts on such diverse topics as hand
washing, environmentally sound bathroom features, nightclub bathrooms
in Tijuana, and better bathroom design.
According to Abbott, during Bathroom Blogfest ’07 the following questions will be examined:
How do bathrooms help support, or detract from, the customer experience at a
variety of businesses?
If we could advise clients on how to change the experience, what suggestions
would we make?
If we could speak directly to designers, what changes would we ask them to make?
Which bathrooms belong in the “Stall of Shame?”
